Regional Activities

In the 16-month first phase starting January 2006 and ending April 2007, the following activities are proposed at the regional level:

• Regional meetings of NGOs, farmer groups, government departments, krishi Vigyan kendras, media, CBOs, etc., to emphasise the issues of women farmers' rights and access to information and regional priorities in this regard. These regional meetings will be held every four months. These meetings will provide the opportunity of orienting the involved NGOs on relevant and emerging issues.
• Village level meetings, involving panchayats representatives, self help groups representatives, community based organisations, farmers' unions, etc., for awareness, education and developing 'action agents'.
• Media briefings at district/regional levels
• Regional yatras. Street plays, wall writings, mobile exhibitions, etc., to be part of such yatras
• Necessary follow up of the above at local levels by NGOs involved. Efforts will also be made to motivate collaborating NGOs for integrating the campaign theme in their ongoing activities

These activities will feed into the state level activities.
