Watershed Conservation and Development

Objectives

1. Fulfilment of basic needs
2. Sustainable use of land and water
3. Probabilities of development and their economic viability
4. Just distribution of benefits accrued
5. Sustainable process of successful implementation and management

Activities

1. Construction of water tank, reservoir, check dam, retaining wall, stone binding, rain water collection tanks, graded binding, gully plugging, branch canal, trenches, etc.
2. Rapair of defunct water structures like tanks, pipelines
3. Vegetative treatment of watershed through plantation of fruit saplings, timber saplings, fodder saplings, etc.
4. Construction of stone roads

Necessary community structures like Watershed Committee, User Groups and Watershed Development Team have also been formed.
